Hey there!  I'm Ava, a teenager, baker, cook, and lover of all things in the name of eats!  I began Sweetie Pies, my online business of baking and selling goods, in 2019.  My goal is to share this experience with you through my desserts, made of high-quality ingredients and a pinch of salt!

Since I was little, I always loved being in the kitchen.  My mother introduced me to baking and holding a chef knife when I was four, and the kitchen has been my home ever since!  She taught me the importance of putting love into everything I do, whether it’s baking, cooking, or any passion I have. Along with my current business, I'm fortunate to have ambitious goals for my future. I plan to earn my Bachelor's in Business Administration at the University of Michigan, and then advance into my culinary aspirations by going to the Culinary Institute of America in New York — I'm a businesswoman and restaurateur in the making!

What I love about baking is seeing the smiles on people's faces when they try my food and desserts. It's important to know that the small things you do for others mean a lot, but not everything is perfect!  Every baker and cook has his/her fail stories, like dropping a cake, not giving the pizza dough enough time to rise, or, like me, lining a cookie sheet with wax paper when baking cookies for the first time (whoops).  My point is, you can bake too! Spread the love through your creativity.  Put on your apron and play some music!
